London is my city of birth and it changed significantly during my time working at its heart - mostly, in my opinion, for the good. When I started work in Canon Street in 1971 most of the South Bank was a no-go area, full of derelict wharfs and warehouses, and there were no high-rise office blocks in the City of London. How time has changed the face of the capital.
This book is a reflection of my memories of a city that dominated my working life, showing my view of its buildings, its people and their daily commute.
